| Because it is hard to successfully raise bunnies, their best chance for survival is to remain in the nest with their mother attending to them. Mother rabbits only come to the nest to feed twice a day, once early in the morning just before sunrise and once at night just after dark. If they sense that someone is watching they will not approach the nest. |

| How to determine if they are Orphaned *No matter how long you have been watching, if the babies are not injured, cover the nest back up with the original nesting material, if available. *If it is not available, cover the nest lightly with grass and leaves. *Across the top of the nest place an "X" of string or twigs. *If the string or twigs have been moved, the mother has been there and covered them back up. In this case leave them alone! *If the string or twigs are in the same place after checking 2 times (morning and night), the mother has not returned and the bunnies will need rehabilitation. 270-547-4200 |
