Betty started at Broadbent in the Spring of 2005.
Since then she has obtained a Kentucky Wildlife Rehabilitation License and
has taken several classes on the following:

Wildlife Care
Habitat Construction
Educational Program Development
Basic Falconry
Fund Raising for Non-Profits

Betty has independently studied the nutritional needs of
Opossums, her favorite animal, and of raptors.
She has found several ways to cut costs here at Broadbent
without sacrificing quality.
Betty assists with administrative duties,
fund raising and oversees the website as well.
She is now training with KuKuWeiss, a Barred Owl,
to become a member of our Educational Program Team.

In Betty's words...

"Many people never find their purpose in life,
I am blessed to know that mine is to work with and on behalf of wildlife.  Broadbent has given me that
chance.  Whether it is caring for an injured owl, feeding a baby opossum or working on the web-site,
it's all  about providing a haven now and in the future for the wild creatures."
