Wildlife Rehabilitator
Ashley volunteered at Broadbent Wildlife Sanctuary from 2002 until 2006.
During this time she gained knowledge and experience in
documentation, fluid therapy, diet, nutrition and food preparation.
Ashley also became proficient in the daily care
and handling of wild mammals and raptors.

In 2006, Ashley joined the Broadbent staff.
After taking the IWRC Basic Wildlife Course, she tested and was granted
her Kentucky Wildlife Rehabilitation License.

Courses taken include:

Basic Wildlife Care
Habitat Construction
Educational Program Development
Basic Falconry

In the upcoming months she will be studying Veterinary Procedures,
Small Animal Science and Medical Terminology.

Ashley recently conducted her first Educational Program
at a local middle school, and has appeared on television,
along with Mary Ann Tobin, Broadbent's founder,
to raise awareness about what we do here at the Sanctuary.

In Ashley's words:

"Working at Broadbent has inspired me to become a Veterinarian.
I hope to work with both domestic animals and wildlife.
One day I would also like to study and work with sea animals and birds.
My goal isn't only to care for animals,
I also want to educate others on what we are doing to the environment,
to the animals and to ourselves."
